Institute of National Planning

(INP) was established by Law No. 231 of 1960 as an independent public entity; carrying out scientific activities for the purpose of promoting scientific planning thought and methodology in Egypt .

INP pursues its objectives through performing research, advisory, training and educational activities, spreading the awareness and the establishment of planning practices in all national institutions, and the dissemination of planning culture in the Egyptian society.

In addition to the development of the legislative structure of the Institute, The Institute's Law No. 13 of 2015 and its executive regulations were issued to keep pace with the latest developments in the corresponding academic and scientific institutions.

In confirmation of the Institute’s role in supporting sustainable development in Egypt since its establishment, the Institute has been equipped with the necessary human capabilities and physical facilities, and has sent many scholarships to all over the world to obtain scientific degrees in various disciplines, and the Institute invited renowned experts in the field of planning and development to familiarize its academic staff with their expertise and knowledge. Moreover, INP concluded numerous cooperation agreements with several international and regional organizations, as well as with many scientific institutes at the international, regional and local levels.

In line with the strategic plan of the institute 2020/2021 – 2024/2025, the institute’s work program for the academic year 2021/2022 includes a variety of scientific activities, most importantly represented in the research plan, including group and individual research, reference books, scientific reports, policy papers, and an academic Master’s and PH.D programs in Planning and development, the professional Master's program in planning for sustainable development, the most important fields of training and consultations that the institute can provide, as well as the programs that the various scientific centers can offer in the field of community service. This is in addition to a set of important scientific events, which include the annual international conference, the Tuesday seminar, the experts meeting, the scientific follow-up, young researchers’ seminar, scientific seminars and workshops.
